Handmade beaded phone charms are designed to be enjoyed every day. A few simple habits help protect the beads, metal findings and attachment cord.

Keep the Charm Dry
Protect beads and metal components from prolonged moisture, perfume, hairspray and harsh cleaning products. If the charm becomes damp, pat it dry with a soft cloth and let it air-dry fully.
Store It Without Tangling
Place the charm in a small pouch or separate compartment. Avoid dropping several long strands together in the bottom of a bag.
Handle the Cord, Not Individual Beads
Lift the accessory by its cord or metal ring. Pulling on one bead can put unnecessary stress on the connection points.
Check the Attachment Point
Before daily use, make sure the case loop, adapter tab and ring are secure. Replace an attachment cord if it shows fraying or visible wear.

How to clean a beaded phone charm
Start with a clean, soft microfiber cloth. Support the charm in your palm and wipe each section gently rather than pulling the strands tight. For dust between beads, use a dry, very soft brush. Avoid soaking the charm or spraying cleaner directly onto it.
Glass and crystal beads
Use a dry microfiber cloth to restore surface shine. If a mark remains, lightly dampen one corner of the cloth, wipe the bead and dry it immediately. Keep moisture away from cord, knots and metal joints.
Acrylic beads and imitation pearls
These finishes can be sensitive to alcohol, perfume and abrasive cleaners. Use only a soft dry cloth and avoid repeated rubbing in one spot.
Metal rings and clasps
Wipe metal hardware after handling, especially if it has been exposed to hand cream or moisture. Do not polish plated parts with abrasive metal cleaner.
Best way to store the charm
Detach the charm before placing a phone or bag in long-term storage. Lay the strands in their natural shape inside a soft pouch, away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity. Do not place heavy objects on top of the beadwork.
Inspect the charm before using it
- Check that the clasp closes completely.
- Look for stretched cord, loose knots or cracked beads.
- Confirm that jump rings have not opened.
- Replace a worn transparent tether patch.
If any structural part looks damaged, stop using the charm until it can be repaired or replaced. Continuing to pull on a loose strand can turn a small problem into a full break.
Travel and seasonal storage
For travel, keep the charm in its own pouch rather than loose with keys or chargers. Seasonal designs should be cleaned before storage so residue does not remain on bead surfaces for several months.
